Hey everyone smile.gif

I'm Cara, 18 from the UK. From Manchester but living in London for Uni. I had a ticket to see Kate in London actually, but the gig got rescheduled to a couple of days after I went home again for Christmas, so that was very sad sad.gif

I'm a Talking Heads fan, so only found Kate because everyone used to post on Psycho Killer comparing the two versions tongue.gif I really really love her music though, beautiful stuff. She like a beautiful hybrid of so many musicians I like, so that's cool.

So yeah....hi.
Johnny
Hi Cara!

Thanks for joining us. Love your forum name smile.gif

What are you studying at uni?

losingmyheadtohollywood
Thanks! biggrin.gif Bit obsessed with it myself, it's from a Patrick Wolf song- 'Losing my head to Hollywood/My liver to London/My youth to Tokyo/Still on with the show'

I'm doing English Literature and Linguistics, it's fun.
liam5000
Oh crap, English Literature at a London uni... and I thought my English classes were hard.

Hi Cara Welcome to the KMH Forum, I hope you get to see Kate perform live I am sure you will love it.

I too am a bit of a Talking Heads fan, my fave is the double live(Name of the Band is Talking Heads). Made even better when reissued on cd with lots of extra tracks.
liam5000
Much Byrne love <3
Johnny
So the Talking Heads forum is talking about Kate's version of Psycho Killer? That's awesome! smile.gif
liam5000
There have been sooo many renditions over the years. I think one in ten musicians have a Psycho Killer cover tongue.gif
losingmyheadtohollywood
Haha thanks for the welcome everyone smile.gif liam if you're as political as your avatar suggests then Lit at a London Uni would be laughably easy for you wink.gif I only struggle because I had no idea about feminism, communism, marxism, or post-colonialism.

Sorry Johnny I didn't really make it clear at all! I meant everyone was posting on youtube about the two versions, I'm not sure if there is a Talking Heads forum or what they think of it.

Thanks for the recommendation Steve, I don't have that album smile.gif It's cool how Talking Heads fans always crop up on forums although they're very hard to find in real life...

Also does this forum have problems with loading quite a lot or is my internet just a bit dodgy? I couldn't get on here at all yesterday.
Johnny
Sony's servers were down yesterday. I think they were down for maintenance.
liam5000
Ahh, that's what it was.
mulder
mmm
i didn't notice - i was too busy doing other fun stuff like cleaning out the work van...
liam5000
Were you listening to KMH while cleaning the van? ... if not, we're gonna have to delete that post wink.gif
mulder
lol

liam5000
