Hello everyone

My name is Matt, aged 20, blah blah blah.

How y'all going?
Tracey
Hi Matt, welcome to our forum. We love a chat, some of us are more social than others, but we all think KMH is fantastic!

Have you seen her perform live? If so, where was it?

Look forward to "meeting" you

I did, at the Metro. I also have a poor quality photo of it that I will try hunt down and post here.

Here it is...

(boo for crummy camera phone and poor lighting!)

As for socialness... I'm on a few other forums and have met quite a few people from them, so I guess you could call me social too.

Have a bit of a read here, and you will discover that we have a bit of a sense of humour, and like taking the p##s out of each other.

Are you planning on seeing Kate on Friday Feb 29 at The Maning Bar, Sydney Uni? It is a part of the O week celebrations, tickets are available at the uni or from Moshtix for $22 which includes booking fee.

We (Steve & I) will be there, as will Manning, no pun intended, Fee, to name a few.

Grab a cuppa, or a bevvie, and take the time to get to know us, you will love it here!

I think I might go and have a look at maybe purchasing a ticket right now.

I'm a member on The Grates forum, and on a small Souths forum, so I can handle a bit of p##s taking.

In fact, the fact that p##s was spelt thusly makes this the mildest of all of them biggrin.gif

While the language on this forum appears to be, perhaps, mild, we do have quite a few under age members here, JAWS, our son is 13, rtlover is 14, Little Gabi is 13; I'm not!

We try to veil the innuendo where possible, and usually wait until the kidlets have gone to bed, but Gabi is in WA, and so is a couple of hours behind us...

Hope this overview assists.

Indeed it does. Gotta keep the kiddies clean.

I just bought my ticket to KMH at the Manning.

Woo! KMH on 29 Feb, IHH on 7 March and Little Birdy on 12 March.
Tracey
Why not consider the BMFF in March as well?? Check out the thread in live shows. Kate will be playing 3 times, Friday March 14, March 15 and 16!!!

14th is no good for me, Souths play the Roosters on that day.

Plus - blue mountains is a bit or a trek!

We have driven to Brisbane to see Kate, when she supported Evermore, we saw her perform at the Enmore on the Friday night, then went home, picked up the 3 kids and nan, and drove over night to Brisbane; Steve & I then saw her the Saturday night, then all 6 of us backed up on the Sunday for an all-ages gig; hit the M's for dinner on the way home, drove through the night and got the kids to school for 10am, and us to work shortly thereafter.....

For the Trash & Treasure tour, we started by driving straight from work on the Thursday, in Sydney's west, to Newcastle, as you do, to see Kate, then back home by 2.30am then back to work, then to the Oxford Art Factory on the Friday and Saturday nights....then we survived work until 1pm on the Friday, then flew to Brisbane, saw Kate on the Friday night, Saturday arvo, Saturday night at the Globe in Brisbane, then we drove to Byron Bay with Psycho Andy, saw Kate perform, then drove back to Brisbane, slept, then flew back to Sydney on the Monday morning and straight to work.

Are we KMH fanatics, I would suggest yes! Is Katoomba too far to go to see Kate, no.

Whoa.

Epic

Admiration +10
Respect +10
Awesomeness +10

Still, I don't think I'd get to katoomba to see her play. Not on my salary (and lack of saving ability) anyway.

Hi Matt
Looking forward to meeting you at the Manning Bar biggrin.gif

Hey Matt, welcome aboard!

Good to see you're going to the next Sydney gig. Be careful of Tracey, if there's a way to get you to the BMFF, she'll do it! tongue.gif

Hello Gabi!

(I'm sorry, but I have to comment on this... do you listen to Silverchair's older music as well as the new stuff?)
Little Gabi
^ i like it MUCH MUCH more then the new stuff!! Neon Ballroom forever and always!! (Freak Show aswell, i love Freak)

not that i don't love the wacky Rock Orchestra stuff, but the straight grunge is so much better.

+10 Respect for liking the older stuff.

I refuse to listen to Young modern, and only listen to songs from Diorama when I have to. I LOVE Frogstomp though.
Little Gabi
i do like rock orchestra music. its pretty awesome. but i'm a bit of a screamo head. my favo Chair songs are Emotion Sickness, Anthem for the Year 2000 and i've had a complete blank, what the one about animal cruelty on Neon Ballroom, teh real screamo one??thats my absolute favourite.. but i've blanked on what its called....

Spawn Again! i remembered!! thats my favourite one! i love it when he screams 'STEAK!' in that.
saithis
My favourite Silverchair songs would have to be Israel's Son, Tomorrow, Freak and Ana's Song (Open Fire).
Little Gabi
yeah, Ana's Song is brilliant! Isreal's Son is also very good. do you like the slower songs like Miss You Love?? or the more poppy stuff like Pop Song for Us Rejects?

I love just about all of Neon Ballroom - Miss You Love is a v. good song, IMO, and has some of my favourite lyrics.
Little Gabi
yes, i love thos elyrics so much!! i was singing them really loudly in the car, very loudly, everyone got angry at me but i don't care.
