Another newbie to the KMH Forum.....

Hello KMH fans and supporters. It's great to be here.
My name is Ross, and I'm from Brisbane.

I'm hoping to go to her gig tonight at the Zoo. Have to turn my phone off so that work doesn't call me in......

Love her performance of Words at the 2007 ARIAS, and I can't wait to see her live.

Are there any banners of KMH out there that I can use for my website and facebook profile?

Cheers

Rossco

hey Ross, welcome to the forum!

there sure is a banner you can use to pimp Kate (and the forum)

I made it a while ago and Kate's got it up on her myspace:

IPB Image

all you need to do is copy and paste the following code in your "about me" section on myspace

<a href="http://forums.katemh.com/index.php?act=idx"><img src="http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8186/kmhforumbannercc4.jpg" border="0" alt="The Official KMH Forum"/></a>

Thanks for that Cecilia.

She is now on my Myspace and Facebook profiles. Currently adding a banner and link on my website, www.ozflightsimexpo.com. I know it's nothing to do with music, however it gets over 29,000 hits per month from all over the world. It will help pimp Kate big time!

Cheers

What did you think of your first Kate gig?

Welcome Ross, I too would love your feedback on the show! smile.gif

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to Kate's gig at the Zoo. Work committments got in the way.

I'm planning to go and see KMH at Currumbin on the 29th.

Make sure you get your ticket Ross, it will be a great show. And welcome aboard.

It was a dark and rainy night......

My car seemed to know the way to the Currumbin RSL, that I didn't even turn my car's SATNAV on. Mazdas don't need satellites, not on this particular night.

I arrived at the RSL, and noticed the line up to the Lounge upstairs. I felt my heart race in anticipation of the musical delights I was going to be treated to. I kept on checking the time on my mobile phone, counting down the minutes, and tried to make time go faster.

The doors opened and the music lovers started to file in and claim their seats. The bar was open and the kitchen was working overtime to feed the many fans. The fans were hungry of course, however it wasn't for spring rolls or potato wedges. They were ready to feast on the musical offerings of Speed Of Purple and Kate Miller Heidke.

I was totally entranced by Speed Of Purple. I found the music taking me to another place entirely. I've been exposed to a whole range of musical genres in my life, thanks to my family and friends, however I have to say that Speed Of Purple is in a class of it's own. It was a treat to listen to them, however my anticipation soared higher, and found myself once again checking the time.

Finally, her name was announced and there she was on stage. She started off with the song that got me hooked in the first place, "Words". I thoroughly enjoyed her live performance of "Little Adam"; "Career Advice - Australian Idol" and her new song "Politics In Space". If this song is any indication of what we can look forward to, the next album is gonna be nothing short of amazing.

The highlight for me was actually meeting Kate Miller Heidke. I got my friend to take a photo of me with her, however, much to my dismay, found that the phone took the photo, but didn't actually save it! DOh! I was so looking forward to posting the pic here on the Forum and sharing it with all of you. Oh well, next time Rossco, take a digital camera.

Kate Miller Heidke is the most down to earth and friendliest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was happy to sign the Little Eve CD I had bought earlier from the merch stand (note to self, buy the CD/DVD next time!). After performing on stage non stop for almost 2 hours, she still had plenty of time for her fans. I waited patiently until the rush was over, then went over to introduce myself.

In a nutshell, I was thrilled to be a part of that audience, and I can't wait to see Kate Miller Heidke perform live in the near future.

Welcome to the addicted.....

Rossco, it gave me a buzz to read your lead up to Currumbin RSL

Question: Did you need that SatNav to get home?? For us, we always tend to float home, and Steve doesn't drink!

It doesn't matter how many times you see the band perform, it is always special. Kate is a real talent, but a part of her attraction and charm is the time she gives her fans.

This is another aspect, apart from her um songs, music, talent, live performance, energy, professionalism etc that sets her apart from the rest.

As a friend of mine said on Kate's MySpace, if it takes a trip to Bunnings to get the necessary stuff to build a bridge to enable you to get to a KMH gig, then just bl#@dy do it!

Thanks Rossco smile.gif

Yeah floated all the way home, SATNAV was turned off once again.
Didn't care if I took the long way home, as I was happy to enough to cruise around and chat about the concert with my friend.

Incidentally the friend that I bought along with me to see Kate Miller Heidke is into R&B, hip hop, techno and Indian music and had never even heard of her.
After the gig, he was enjoying a cigarette and 1 last drink for the road in the smokers corner of the RSL. He said to me that Kate's vocal talents are superb and that he was glad that he came along.

Feels good to be a part of the addicted too Tracey.

The CD has certainly been getting a work out. I crank it up for my daily commute between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The volume goes up on Little Adam and Words naturally biggrin.gif .

Thanks Rossco, great review. I knew you would have a great time.

Dont worry about getting the single disc version of the CD, in no time you will have worn it out and you will have to get the CD/DVD version as well. If you do get a chance look around and see if you can get a copy of the original 2 disc version which has a 4 track cd that includes Psycho Killer live and a few other tracks. You can also buy Telegram and Circular Breathing from Kates Shop.

The longer we wait the more awesome it is when it comes out?
