Full Version: It's Another New Guy!
Kate Miller-Heidke Official Forum > Welcome to the Official KMH Forum > Introduce Yourself!

This is the bit where I give a cautious wave from in the corner...Introductions aren't my strong point... so HII!!

Without further ado, let me copy and paste my "about me" stuff:

Hi, I'm Chris...and I'm a musoholic (Hi Chris...) I play guitar and am learning piano. I fool myself into thinking I can sing, so you'll often see me being that fool in the corner trying to sing into singstar or the karaoke machine (albeit after a drink or two)... I work in IT but my real passion lies in the world of live audio, so I spend a fair bit of time volunteering at various gigs around the area. Favourite haunts include: St Lucia/Toowong area of Brisbane, Byron Bay and Rainbow Beach...

Anywhere around my area and need someone for a gig? Sing out...Otherwise you'll find me at the KMH gigs around the place too... I'll be at the Byron Bay gig in February if anyone's thinking about it...so yeah..that's me..

Who are you?

Hello! It's always nice to see new members here... and it's also rather interesting reading the posts... it's like a slice of themselves are shared to each member that reads it...

ok... that was weird...

I hope you enjoy your time here!
Oh and btw, how did you find out about Kate?

That's a bit of a funny story actually...

It all started back in 'nam..

OK not really..A close friend of mine introduced me to this (and I quote) "Weird Brisbane Girl" a couple of years ago. It was the time I was getting into Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, GnR and the like...so Kate didn't really take my fancy back then...To be honest I thought her music was...plain weird. In late 2007 when I really started to get interested in the production of music I was looking around for a few different artists to analyse and examine their recordings, at which point I stumbled upon Kate again. Since then I've just loved every single piece of music with her name next to it. I saw Kate live in Mullumbimby last year, and ever since have been snavelling up all the CDs I could find, and trying to find when I can go see her next. I absolutely loved the way Kate performed, it seemed to just include the audience so much, and was all up a hell of a lot of fun! I am spewing I didn't get anything signed at that gig, so I'm going to have to head to the ones in Byron and Kawana this year...If I get over-excited I may hit Coolangatta on the way to Byron!

Peace Out.
Betty

Welcome! Definitely don't be a stranger, we accept all who share our common love of Kate. Perhaps we shall run into eachother at a show one day, I'm hoping to make it to Coolongatta smile.gif

Yeah... I knew of Kate before now as well...

I saw her performance on the ARIAs last year and I was like... "This seems to be an artist to look out for.. I'll have to look her up on the net" and... i just forgot (like i do.. i forget to do the things i tell myself to do dry.gif ) and i kinda regret it... but i'm SO glad word-of-mouth brought her music to me again!
