Well it was clear upon arrival that The Coolangatta Hotel was the place to be on Friday night. There was a line up to get into the place with all of the(predominantly) young people dressed up in their party finest.
The room for the bands is a large room that would hold 500 or so without too much of a hassle. First up was Washington, this is my third time seeing Megan on this tour and I must admit that I hated her on first listen, 2nd time was ok and this time I found that the songs seemed to be growing on me.
Next up was Hungry kids of Hungary, I only caught a couple of their songs and I dont know if it was the thought of seeing another Kate gig, but the songs did not even register. I must admit that I was expecting to see Cuthbert as advertised, so Hungry Kids were not a great substitute.
Kate was next up and dressed in her black skirt, butterfly top and black lace bandanna. The set list like many of the previous nights was Motorscooter, SuperGirl,Like You,Mama,Adam,Last Day,CITC,Politics,Gods, No Truck,Words,Voice, Shake it, and encore of Dreams and Space, no Shoebox, but perhaps at Byron it might make an appearance.
The crowd seemed to really appreciate Kate and plenty of people knew most of the songs, although there still seemed to be a few who insist on talking when Kate is singing!!What gives guys you have paid your money to go and hear someone sing and then you talk all the way through???? Nic nearly had a minor accident during Supergirl when she went to share the Mike with Kate tripped but managed to stay upright and was able to sing without missing a beat...a true pro!!!!
Kate seemed to be in a particularly good mood tonight on stage and was making lots of faces during the songs. Another winning performance.
