Ooo I'm starting the review! I've NEVER started the post gig review before!

Anyway, the road trip was a complete success. I ended up sitting in the middle (to Steve's disappointment) as we made the voyage to Lake Kawana Community Centre. The room was packed predominantly with adolescent girls and parents hiding in the back section. It was a lovely surprise when Ktlynn joined us after a long spur of the moment train ride.
Hungry Kids of Hungary supported and did a fantastic job. I've seen them a few times now and that was probably the best I've seen them. They were energetic and warmed the crowd up rather nicely.

Kate was BRILLIANT as usual but the audience were a bit meh... Darned Nova generation. Yet again, complete silence until Can't Shake It (which went off) Trish, Ktlynn and I were singing and dancing up a storm throughout the whole set! This pleased Kate and the band, I'd say, because they kept looking at us being psychos and smiling. We even made a tribute to our dear Sallie in Dreams. We missed the violin and so we took it upon ourselves to bring it back in noisy air violin form... It was rather spectacular.

Afterwards Kate did her signing, it was also pretty fun. So many over excited teens! One boy even went up to a man with longish curly hair and asked him to sign his calendar thinking he was Keir! Kate liked my whole outfit, right down to the bow that kept flying off my head which was around my neck...

The Setlist:

Motorscooter
Supergirl
ILike You Better
Mama
Little Adam
Last Day
Caught InThe Crowd
Politics
God's Gift To Women
No Truck
Words
You're The Voice

(Encore)
Can't Shake It
And Space was on there but they didn't do it sad.gif

So, all in all, a wonderful night...

Betty, a great review, you were almost there with the setlist, however Shake it was on after Voice, then the band came back on to do an encore of Dreams/I Love you.
I thought the crowd was sensational, after a couple of nights in a row of seeing Kate in big pubs with lots of drunken people who were not interested in hearing the band, but were more interested in listening to themselves talking or shouting.
The crowd who did not seem to know all of the songs but reacted well in all the right places, and kept quite during the songs....a perfect audience.
The room itself was pretty much what you would consider a school Gym, I was pleasantly surprised with the stage setup as it was quite large with a plain backdrop which filled with colour and shadows when the lights were on.
I would love to be at more shows like this one!!

Why do I always end up with the dodgy stuff laugh.gif blink.gif
